Pharmacy First: see our pharmacist for common conditions

For seven common conditions, you can see our pharmacist instead of waiting for a GP appointment. We'll assess you in private and, if it's right for you, we can give you NHS treatment there and then.

Conditions we can help with

Sore throat

A painful throat that came on recently.

Age 12 and over

A painful rash with blisters, usually on one side of the body. Come in early.

Age 1 and over

Impetigo

A skin infection that causes sores and golden crusts.

If referred

Other minor illnesses

If NHS 111 or your GP practice refers you to us, we can also advise on other minor illnesses.

Some health conditions, medicines or pregnancy may mean the pharmacist needs to refer you to your GP instead. We'll explain why.

What happens

Step 1

Walk in or call to book

Walk in, or call us to book a time. NHS 111 or your GP practice can also send you to us.

Step 2

A private chat

Our pharmacist asks about your symptoms and health in the consultation room.

Step 3

The right next step

Advice, NHS treatment if it's suitable, or a referral to your GP. We'll let your GP practice know.

Feeling very unwell? If your symptoms are severe or getting worse, call NHS 111. In an emergency, call 999.
